#18 Qi Cultivation Part 3 – Simple Exercises to Create Abundant Qi Using Three Sphere Energy Qigong

Spheres, Circles and Spirals are all shapes that appear naturally in nature. They appear because the laws that govern energy and its physical manifestation take these forms. The first basic shape of the sphere can be used in qigong practice to manifest an abundant quantity of Qi within you.

Do you realize that your reality manifests from the future infinite field of possibilities through your words, your deeds, and your beliefs. It is easy to see that everything that exists in your reality has become manifest from the same, single, universal energy. Qi is one manifestation of this universal energy in your body that you can balance, make abundant, and allow to flow to maintain your body, mind and spirit at a high level of positive vibration or consciousness.

In the Yi Jing (Book of Change, 1122 – 1115 B.C.) it is stated that “One Yin and one Yang is called Dao.” The Dao is the universal force which manifested the first aspect, the Wuji State, which began manifesting reality, the universe and everything in it that we create and experience. In essence the Dao manifested Wuji which then derived Yin and Yang and from these two opposing aspects the natural cycles (laws of universal energy) evolved.

MIND POWER and QIGONG

Wallace Wattles (Science of Getting Rich) says it this way, “There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.” He goes on to say, “A thought, in this substance produces the thing that is images by the thought.”

This then is the key to creating abundant Qi throughout your body. A THOUGHT can be used to manifest abundant Qi throughout your body. Using thought you can create IDEAS. When you DECIDE and BELIEVE in your ideas they manifest in ACTION. Your actions then manifest your RESULTS.

Using the power of your mind and visualization you can tap into your subconscious mind and thus connect with the universal energy to manifest your thoughts into results. The sphere is a shape that can be easily visualized by most everyone and it is a foundational concept in the creation of Qi.

THE DANTIAN – A SHPERE OF ENERGY STORAGE

In your body there are places where you can manifest and store Qi. These places are called “Dan Tian” (elixir field). There are three main dan tian in the human body. The “Lower Dan Tian” (Xia Dan Tian) is located in the abdomen about three or four finger widths below the navel. The “Middle Dan Tian” (Zhong Dan Tian) is located in the area of the diaphragm, the lower chest. And the “Upper Dan Tian” (Shang Dan Tian) is considered to be the entire brain with its center being the pituitary/pineal region.

THE DAN TIAN QIGONG BREATHING METHOD

To build up the Qi in the Lower Dan Tian you will need to use a method of breathing called “Qi Huo” (start the fire) and then to build up Qi in the other two dan tian you will need to use your Yi (wisdom mind) to lead the Qi (energy). To accomplish this breathing you must learn to rotate the dan tian using the following method.

INHALATION – as you inhale you pull your abdomen in toward your spine, pulling from the QiHai (Co-6), and then upward toward the diaphragm, lifting the abdominal floor, HuiYin (Co-1).

EXHALATION – as you exhale you push your abdomen outward toward QiHai (Co-6) and then downward toward HuiYin (Co-1)

In this process you are generating Qi (energy) in what the Daoists call “Dan Lu” (elixir furnace).

LOWER DAN TIAN EXERCISE

STARTING POSITION – Begin with both palms covering the QiHai (Co-6) and your knees bent so your thighs are at a 45 degree angle to the floor.

INHALATION – using your toes grip the floor like a cat and inhale pulling QiHai in toward your spine and HuiYin up toward the lower dan tian rising up until your knee are barely bent. At the same time visualize (mind power imagination) that your feet and legs are large straws that you are going to use to pull up energy from the earth into the lower dan tian.

EXHALATION – relax your toes and exhale pushing the QiHai outward and the HuiYin downward to their starting positions as you sink (bend your knees) back to their starting position. At the same time visualize that the energy is expanding and pushing the lower dan tian outward like a balloon would expand if filled with air. This concentrates the Qi in the lower dan tian.

MIDDLE DAN TIAN EXERCISE

STARTING POSITION – Begin with both palms covering the QiHai (Co-6) and your knees bent so your thighs are at a 45 degree angle to the floor.

INHALATION – using your toes grip the floor like a cat and inhale pulling QiHai in toward your spine and HuiYin up toward the lower dan tian rising up until your knee are barely bent. At the same time visualize (mind power imagination) that your feet and legs are large straws that you are going to use to pull up energy from the earth into the spine (another straw) and up to the middle dantian (located at the diaphragm / lower rib cage).

EXHALATION – relax your toes and exhale pushing the QiHai outward and the HuiYin downward to their starting positions as you sink (bend your knees) back to their starting position. At the same time visualize that the energy is expanding and pushing the middle dan tian outward like a balloon would expand if filled with air. This concentrates the Qi in the middle dan tian.

UPPER DAN TIAN EXERCISE

STARTING POSITION – Begin with both palms covering the QiHai (Co-6) and your knees bent so your thighs are at a 45 degree angle to the floor.

INHALATION – using your toes grip the floor like a cat and inhale pulling QiHai in toward your spine and HuiYin up toward the lower dan tian rising up until your knee are barely bent. At the same time visualize (mind power imagination) that your feet and legs are large straws that you are going to use to pull up energy from the earth into the spine (another straw) and up to the upper dantian (located at the brain / pituitary-pineal region).

EXHALATION – relax your toes and exhale pushing the QiHai outward and the HuiYin downward to their starting positions as you sink (bend your knees) back to their starting position. At the same time visualize that the energy is expanding and pushing the upper dan tian outward like a balloon would expand if filled with air. This concentrates the Qi in the upper dan tian.

I suggest that you practice the first exercise everyday for a week before moving on to the next. Do at least 36 breathing cycles. In the fourth week you can do 36 cycles of each in succession everyday. After 4 weeks you should have a strong and healthy amount of qi in your system.

Next it is necessary that you learn how to balance that Qi and then how to make it flow smoothly throughout your system.

Beginning TODAY! If you start your mind power qigong practice, as a serious practice, a practice of self- control, you will develop a new awareness, and you will see as a manifestation that you are making progress – IF YOU LOOK FOR IT!
